It’s an explosion of passion and flavor! Every year in Italy, there is eager anticipation for the arrival of the new wines, light and fresh, known as “vini novelli”. However, their official release is only after November 4th. That’s why in the meantime, various festivals are organized to celebrate this event. Towns like Narni (which inspired C.S. Lewis’ creation of Narnia), Torgiano, or the vibrant Pontassieve come alive with tastings on the streets and in restaurants, wine judging competitions, culinary demonstrations, and entire meals designed to perfectly complement these remarkable wines. An unforgettable experience for all enthusiasts of good food and great wines. Welcome to the magical world of Italian new wines!

Cantine Aperte in San Martino is a true journey that allows you to connect with the world of wine and discover its secrets directly from the producers, who will welcome visitors to their wineries to present delicacies, fine wines, and successful food and wine pairings.
The Wine Tourism Movement focuses on this autumn event to develop knowledge of wine and its territories, catering to the interest of the younger generation, eager to understand in order to make better choices regarding what and how to drink. Therefore, on November 11th, the member wineries of the Movement in Umbria will open their doors to wine tourists, with the intention of sharing the joy of exceptionally tasting the wines from the latest harvest and more, combined with seasonal products, in a convivial and friendly atmosphere full of flavor.

In the same format as Cantine Aperte, expect guided tastings, pairings with traditional dishes or unique recipes born out of chefs’ creativity, winery tours, and engaging activities. All in an autumnal version.
In short, during the San Martino summer, Umbrian wineries offer a delightful escape from the cold November thanks, once again, to the warmth of conviviality and their familiar and inviting hospitality, alongside the quality of their wine.
