Set in magnificent Piazza del Popolo, Orvieto Sound Festival has rapidly become one of the highlights of the Umbrian summer.

Bringing together established Italian artists and emerging talent, the festival offers several evenings of music beneath one of Italy’s most spectacular cathedral cities.

Last but not least, closing out the festival on July 28th is the amazing Max Gazzè and his INTERLUDE tour. LARS ROCK FEST: CHIUSI, 10-12 TH JULY

Get ready to rock out for three days straight at the most epic rock fest since someone discovered that guitars can also double as weapons against boredom! This year’s Lars Rock Fest is cranking the fun up to eleven, featuring FREE international rock music that’ll have you dancing like no one’s watching—except your neighbor, who will definitely not stop judging your questionable moves!

But this festival isn’t just any ordinary rock fest. It’s a cross-border extravaganza that celebrates the vibrant music scene of Umbria, Tuscany, and beyond. In fact, the festival is already a bit Umbrian, as it attracts a large audience from the area and features talented artists from the region, including the renowned musical director Alessandro Sambucari from Perugia.

As if the music isn’t enough, the festival joyfully offers a delightful array of activities for all ages and interests. From exhilarating live concerts to charming book and vinyl markets, there’s truly something for everyone at the public gardens of Via Oslavia in Chiusi. Moon in June: June–August

The Moon in June Festival may sound like a summer fling with a lunar theme, but don’t let that name fool you! This concert series is strutting its stuff all summer long, promising to be yet another unforgettable musical extravaganza. Set against the backdrop of the charming towns and islands around Lago Trasimeno, it boasts a smorgasbord of international talent—jazz hands, classical bows, and everything in between. And the main stage? Oh, it’s perched on the lovely island of Maggiore, offering a picture-perfect venue where you can enjoy the tunes while pretending to be a cultured island resident.

There are numerous smaller stages and venues dotted around the area, in addition to the main stage, that feature up-and-coming musicians and local talent. Both tourists and locals are buzzing with excitement about the music and festivities, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere.

Sagra Musicale Umbra: Perugia, September 19th to 3rd october

This is a festival dedicated to classical and chamber music, with almost 140 different companies taking part, showcasing a wide array of performances that cater to diverse musical tastes. During the festival days, it’s also possible to admire instruments made by local artisans, who demonstrate their exceptional craftsmanship and passion for music. These artisans often host workshops, giving attendees a rare opportunity to learn about the intricate processes involved in instrument making, from selecting the finest woods to the final touches that bring each instrument to life. Additionally, visitors can enjoy interactive sessions with musicians, allowing them to experience firsthand the rich tones and resonances of these beautifully crafted instruments.

Todi Festival: August 28th through September 6th

Every year, from late August to early September, the enchanting Todi Festival bursts forth, showcasing a dazzling array of artistic mediums—including dance, theater, music, and literature—interwoven in an exquisite tapestry of creativity. Founded by the visionary Silvano Spada in 1987, this festival has soared to newfound heights, earning acclaim for its groundbreaking spirit and imaginative brilliance. It magnetically attracts performers, directors, and writers from all corners of Italy and beyond, uniting them in a fervent celebration of artistic expression.

In the enchanting streets and vibrant squares of Todi, from the lively main Piazza del Popolo to the sacred steps of the Church of San Fortunato, music dances through the air, filling both the awe-inspiring Carlo Gatteschi theater and the picturesque outdoors with magic. By highlighting more hidden gems on the village’s outskirts, we can ignite a deeper passion within tourists, inviting them to discover the breathtaking beauty of Todi and its stunning surroundings.
