Cascate delle Marmore

The majestic Cascata delle Marmore, or Marmore Falls – the world’s tallest man-made waterfall, towering 165 meters high. Nestled in the lush greenery of Umbria the crystal clear water thunders over the cliffs at such a force it brings to mind the falls of Niagara. The nature reserve that surrounds the falls is expansive and you can spend a whole day either relaxing in the tranquil surroundings, or exploring the vast forest. Or for those seeking more adrenaline, you can even white-water raft on the nearby river. So, why not pack a picnic lunch and spend a day here? With some of the most awe-inspiring scenery in Italy to take in, your day is certain to be unforgettable at the Marmone Falls.

Note: The water of the Marmore Waterfall is used to produce hydroelectric energy, therefore, its flow can vary depending on the season and the days of the week. In order to see the waterfall at full capacity and, therefore, in its maximum splendour, it is necessary to check the opening times of the water.
